I would really appreciate shorter weekend walks as I have osteoarthritis in one of my knees and I find it hard to walk distances over 10 or 12 miles. I know I have option to do a short version on many walks but that often means leaving the group and missing out on the social side of things and walking alone just doesn't appeal to me.

Sounds good to me, especially in this heat.
How about a shady woodland walk around Farnham. The ticket is not expensive either.
